Betty and Joe  Firing Squad: by MB

Charged with smuggling in a third world country run by a cruel dictator, Betty and Joe were summarily tried and executed the day following their arrest. They were marched barefoot out into the courtyard, where six well-trained marksmen took aim and fired on command, striking Betty and Joe with three rounds each. Joe gasped as he turned his head ever so slightly to watch as the Captain of the guard approached with his sidearm out and extended. He fired once and Joe felt Betty’s body jerked hard on the ground next to him as the slug drilled through her head and brains. The Captain repeated the process with Joe, who watched the flash spit from the barrel of the gun before everything went black. Small crimson trails trickled from the corners of their mouths where Betty and Joe laid dead, side by side, barefoot next to the blood-spattered wall behind where they stood moments ago.
